Shelbi Nakano

Shelbi Nakano, a food loving, dog mom born and raised on the island of Oahu, is a leader driven by empathy and compassion for helping others. Her organized, detail-oriented, and analytical style of work empowers her to manage Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies' compliance measures to ensure the organization’s success. After completing her undergraduate degree in Public Health-Global Health from the University of Washington, she felt drawn to come home to give back to the community who raised her. Her passion for maternal and child health propelled her to earn her Master of Public Health degree specializing in Social and Behavioral Health Sciences from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Throughout her studies, Shelbi continued to work with Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies as she felt compelled to be a part of the important work that Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies spearheads in our local communities. Shelbi loves to support her community by shopping local small businesses. Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies' dedication to achieving health equity by empowering local families through grassroot efforts is the driving force that motivates Shelbi to continue her public health work.
