Doula

Born in Maryland, birth worker Rhamira Corbett began her career in early childhood education, working with infants and Pre-K students at Bright Horizons Child Care Services while living in North Carolina and Georgia. Her commitment to community involvement grew as she mentored teen moms through the Sister Friends Birthing Project, a program under the Florida Healthy Start Coalition that offers social support during pregnancy and postpartum to teens in Tallahassee. Within this coalition, Rhamira advanced her career by becoming a certified doula through the G.R.O.W. Doula Program. In 2024, she relocated to the beautiful Hawai'i Island, where she now teaches middle school Social Studies and works with Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies to ensure equitable maternal and child healthy access on the Big Island.
