Pennie Bumrungsiri

Pennie’s midwifery journey began with four one-way tickets, leading to 10 years serving townships, villages, and border states in international settings. Offering direct, person-centered care in the community fulfills Pennie’s passion for storytelling, as she weaves together the narratives and livelihoods of the clients she serves. She believes in people and is witness to the incredible strength harnessed through the passageway of birth.

Her extensive research in community health systems placed her on the executive team of leading development organizations, where she independently transferred training models between regions of Asia and South Africa. Her ability to connect with people enriches her practice, making her a compassionate and empathetic caregiver who truly understands the profound impact of bringing new life into the world. She is rooted on the Hāmākua Coast with her beautiful family, where they enjoy food, laughter, and nature’s miraculous gifts.
