Leilani

'O Leilani ko'u inoa. No Lahaina mai au. My name is Leilani Digmon, I live in Lahaina, Maui in the Leiali'i Hawaiian Homes neighborhood with my husband Kapali Keahi and our 3 keiki, Kaiao 13, Mele 12, and Kamalu 10.I graduated from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa in 2007 with BA's in Hawaiian Language and Hawaiian Studies. After graduation I was a Kumu at Halau Ku Mana Public Charter School on O'ahu, before moving to Maui in 2010.

The birth of my children, which I gave birth to at home with midwives, as well as my time at UHM and HKM, inspired me to become a birth worker. I first started attending births as a labor support and midwife assistant in 2015. In 2017, I enrolled in Birthwise Midwifery School to become a Certified Professional Midwife. I currently attend the National Midwifery Institute and plan to graduate by the end of 2025. As a Primary Student under Supervision, I work with Licensed Midwife Connie Perkins, providing Midwifery Services based out of Lahaina, Maui, but serve island-wide.

I am also a ko'okua (birth and postpartum doula) with the non-profit, Kalauokekahuli, as well as a doula for Healthy Mother's Healthy Babies.
