Bailey

Hello everyone! My name is Bailey Van Den Baard and I am currently a senior at UH, expecting to graduate in December. I am originally from a small town in the San Francisco Bay Area but I came to Hawai'i to further my education and receive a Bachelors in Public Health! Although I am young and inexperienced when it comes to birth, I am very passionate about maternal health and birth practices. I have no children of my own, however two of my close friends just recently gave birth and I have gained some experience by helping them out around the house. I have been working with HMHB for about 9 months now, I began interning for HMHB last semester for one of my capstone classes and loved it so much I am continuing on volunteering and now doing doula work. It has always been my passion to help and take care of people, after graduation I plan to begin nursing school and pursue a career in labor and delivery. I am very excited to begin my journey of becoming a doula with you all!
