Fatherhood Involvement Team (F.I.T.)

Description:

Building Safe Arms For Children to Jump Into!

What is FIT?

FIT is a fatherhood involvement team that supports dads ad male caregivers in an environment that is both nurturing and beneficial to all male caregivers and their children.

We get together in the community to learn and share about:

(1) Being a strong, positive male caregiver

(2) Caring for our kids

(3) Supporting moms & pregnant partners

(4) How children grow & develop

Nobody does it alone!  We ca do it together!

We offer:

(1) The 24/7 Dads Program

(2) The Nurturing Fathers Program

(3) Time to listen, talk story, laugh and eat

(4) Activities for male caregivers and their keiki

Three Core Beliefs

Fathers or Caregivers:

(1) Have a desire to be active in their child’s life

(2) Are willing to be role models for other male caregivers and our children

(3) Together we build strength for ourselves and the future of our youth

Program Eligibility

(1) A current male caregiver

(2) A desire to develop and grow with your child

(3) A willingness to share support and to build on personal & parenting skills

Hands in Harmony Birth Services

Description:

Hands in Harmony is an organization that is passionate about the health and education of moms, babies, and parents. Childbirth education classes are offered privately or in a group by a certified childbirth educator. Birth doula and postpartum services are also available through a certified birth doula and trained postpartum doula. Additional specialties include breastfeeding support, prenatal yoga, and acupressure for pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period.

Hawaii Childbirth Education Association

Description:

Hawaii Childbirth Professionals and the Doula Network of Hawaii (HCEA/DNH) are a non-profit organization of professionals in childbirth, including Doulas, Midwives and Childbirth Educators. We provide support and education to both families and birth professionals. We believe that knowledge is the key to making an informed choice and that every woman deserves continuous, personalized labor support. Our mission is to enhance the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual health of mothers, babies, and families through evidence-based education and loving support during pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood.

HMSA Positively Pregnant

Description:

HMSA partners with Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children to offer free workshops at various locations on Oahu at no charge. Positively Pregnant is a community program open to all pregnant women or women thinking about starting a family. Partners are encouraged to participate.

Jade Holter Postpartum Doula

Description:

Jade Holter, PCD (DONA) assists families during the transition from belly to bed.

She provides the following services:
  • Care and nurturing for the new mother in postpartum recovery
  • Breastfeeding and/or bottle-feeding education, advice and support
  • Education on newborn traits and characteristics
  • Instruction and assistance in newborn care, infant soothing techniques, swaddling, etc.
  • Emotional support for the whole family
  • Skilled with multiples
  • Daytime and overnight care
  • Practical household and baby related help
  • Childcare assistance for siblings
  • Information, resources and referrals
  • Skin to skin contact
